Guardianship And Adoption Support Services
By Melissa McWilliams, AGSS Program Manager Happy New Year! As we start a fresh new year, I thought it would be a great time to share about the services Lifeline

Embracing The Holidays While Navigating Uncertainty
We all have special moments and memories we look forward to re-creating year after year during the holiday season. And for any child entering your family through guardianship or adoption, the same is true for them!

Celebrating The Adoption Journey
Celebrating National Adoption Month. Honored to be part of more than 270 guardianship and adoption journeys!

Caring Connections: Resources For Foster & Adoption Journeys
Wherever you are at on your adoption, guardianship, or foster care journey there are resources for you. Here are some resources that address grief, trauma, and basic needs such as clothing and diapers.

Adoption Awareness in the Classroom
As we look at back-to-school, let’s not miss an opportunity to connect with our teachers and administrators regarding the need for adoption awareness and competency in our schools and classrooms. Here are some resources that I ran across to help support this need, as well as a few resources for parents as well!

Felt Safety
Where the structure of school used to dictate our day-to-day, we now have entire days at home, new schedules at different day camps, or getting used to routines with alternate caregivers. For kids who come from hard places, this lack of structure and unknowns can alter their individual sense of safety. Finding Your Community (As A Resource Parent)
The parenting journey (and life, in general!) is best done in community with others, and I hope becoming involved in any of these opportunities helps build your community!

Summer Camp
Summer camps can be great for children of all backgrounds. Some camps are even geared specifically for foster children, adopted children, or children with disabilities.

Parenting Children Impacted By Trauma
When trauma is experienced in children, changes in their bodies, brains, behaviors, and belief systems occur. The ability to trust anyone is negatively impacted and behaviors that are illogical or perplexing can take place. This can result in common parenting strategies to be ineffective.
