Who is Lifeline?
With over 50 years of experience, Lifeline supports families through Home-Based (HBS), Family Preservation (FPS), and Adoption & Guardianship Support Services (AGSS). We support families through the adoption and guardianship journey by equipping them with knowledge, resources, and sustainable community supports to help build a safe and stable home. Every family referred to us receives exceptional qualitative care from our compassionate and highly skilled team members.
What Lifeline Provides in adoption support services
As it says in the name, Lifeline exists to support you through your adoption journey. This life transition can be difficult for both the adopted child and the parents. We are committed to being a lifeline for families in this transition, providing education and setting up your family for long-term success. Our goal is to help build a collaborative environment for you and your child where you can see progress in each session and more importantly, your daily life when Lifeline is not present.
We will assist with your unique needs, everything from helping with adoption paperwork to providing education to coordinating therapy for you and your child. You will be working with a Lifeline Care Coordinator to help you navigate the therapy portion of AGSS. Each one of our Care Coordinators are trained in the National Adoption Competency Mental Health Training Initiative (NTI)’s training program offered through C.A.S.E (Center for Adoption Support and Education).
We provide grief, loss, and trauma-informed assistance and work with you through the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) program. We will work through the presented materials and topics during our sessions.
Sometimes a child struggles to put their pain into words. We can implement play or activity into sessions, which allows children to use their minds to coordinate with their hands and in a safe space, can discuss what they are going through. This is where healing can begin and where we start seeing lasting change.
Lifebooks
We will also work on creating a Lifebook for your child. A Lifebook gives children a tool to help them honor and remember their journey to their foster, kinship/guardianship, or adoptive home and allows them to celebrate their heritage, culture, and beliefs. Children of all ages experience some sort of loss, and working through a Lifebook is a tangible way to assist them through it.
We are proud of our high-quality service to the families in our care. We understand that this is a special and pivotal moment for your family, and we take our contribution to this journey seriously. With each passing day, we want to make sure we leave a lasting footprint of love and hope where there was pain, grief, and loss.
